Hitting the haunted trail...
Ghost hunters are hitting the spectral trail in Burton in search of the supernatural.Guided tours are being conducted around town centre locations reputed to be haunted. The Burton Ghost Walks have been organised by Chris and Tracy Campbell-Brown, from Stapenhill. The couple set up the project after going on a ghost tour of York and researching local history. The tours have led to the creation of a Burton Paranormal Investigation Team, a joint venture between the Ghost Walks and Derwent Paranormal Investigators. Chris said: "The Burton Ghost Walk has now been named the Haunted Walk by the paranormal investigators. "The investigation team is undertaking a lengthy investigation and is turning up an amazing amount of paranormal activity." During these investigations the team took a photograph which they say appears to show a monk walking past a tree. Another picture has been dubbed 'the floating head'. Chris added: "During one of the Ghost Walks, Derwent Paranormal investigators took the opportunity to audio record the complete walk. "Although nothing was heard by any of the participants of the walk, strange voices were heard while playing back the recording. This is known as EVP - Electronic Voice Phenomena." The 90-minute ghost walks start from the Market Place. The next one will take place on Sunday at 7pm, followed by another tour on Sunday, May 30Tickets can be booked through Burton Tourist Information Centre on 01283 508111. Burton Ghost Walks are also filming footage for their third DVD centred on the town, reputed to be the "most haunted" in Europe.
